Catherine Avgiris
CATHERINE AVGIRIS is executive vice president and chief financial officer for Comcast Cable. She is responsible for all functional, programmatic and financial operations of a $45 billion division of Comcast Corporation. A 23-year veteran of Comcast, Avgiris has been instrumental in the growth and development of the company, and her influence is evident in her work throughout the years. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as EVP and GM of communications and data services for Comcast’s Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Voice and consumer wireless businesses. Under her leadership, Comcast has become the largest high-speed Internet service provider and one of the largest phone providers in the United States, with more than 22 million Internet and 11 million voice customers. Additionally, Avgiris was responsible for launching the Verizon Wireless partnership, spearheading Comcast’s WiFi initiative, and managing Internet Essentials, the company’s broadband adoption program. She was recently named a 2015 director-at-large for Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and holds one of the cable industry’s most prestigious honors, the Vanguard award for Distinguished Leadership for cable operations management from the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA). A graduate of Baruch College, Avgiris earned a B.A. in accounting and is a certified public accountant in New York and Pennsylvania. @comcast
