Shalise Manza Young
Shalise Manza Young is an award-winning journalist who covers the New England Patriots and the National Football League for The Boston Globe. Young began covering the Patriots in 2006 for The Providence Journal where she began her career as an intern and moved up the ranks, covering high school sports, colleges, the Boston Celtics and eventually the Patriots. Young uses her creative flare to explain the nuances of football to readers while also reporting and sharing the personal stories of athletes off the field. Her storytelling has been recognized with awards from the Pro Football Writers of America for feature writing and game story. Young is a regular commentator on New England Sports Network and occasional contributor to NFL Network. In seven-plus years covering the NFL, Young has covered four Super Bowls, nearly 200 NFL games and written hundreds of stories. During the offseason, Young doubles as a track and field coach at The Winsor School in Boston, where she has discovered a passion for coaching and mentoring young girls. A New England native, Young earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University and is a wife and mother of two.
