Valerie Mulhern
Valerie Mulhern is the vice president of human resources of the analytical instruments group of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. In this role, she oversees a global team guiding human resources strategy and execution for a $3 billion, 8,500 employee group. Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. is the world leader in serving science, with annualized revenues of $17 billion and 50,000 employees in 50 countries. Mulhern brings significant experience leading major change initiatives and guiding Fortune 500 companies undergoing acquisitions or transitions. She has developed and launched leadership development programs, women’s mentoring initiatives and partners with the Millennials’ Employee Resource Group at Thermo Fisher, building a corporate culture in which Millennials are recruited, developed, retained and valued globally. Prior to her current role, Mulhern was head of HR for the biosurgery division at Genzyme, Inc., SVP of human resources at Bank of America as part of the global wealth group and the lead of HR for Oral-B as part of the Gillette Co. She was also a human capital strategy consultant with Deloitte Consulting leading HR transformations and change management. She earned a B.S in sociology from Harvard University and an M.B.A from the F.W. Olin School Graduate School of Business at Babson College. @servingscience
